მაუს პრესკონფერენცია:
Jose Mourinho denied reports he had insulted referee Paolo Tagliavento and revealed: “I was asked to be England manager.”
The Inter Coach has picked up a three-match ban in Serie A after the 0-0 draw with Sampdoria.
He protested repeatedly from the touchline and even made a handcuffs gesture towards the cameras, but reports in the Gazzetta dello Sport today suggest worse happened in the tunnel.
At half-time Mourinho is alleged to have told Tagliavento: “Don’t you worry about your children who have to watch what you’re doing?”
Although he point-blank refused to comment on anything other than the Champions League in the UEFA Press conference, Mou did break his silence for a moment.
“I challenge anyone to find an Italian referee who says I insulted him.”
The Special One was asked about Fabio Capello’s decision to strip John Terry of the England captaincy after tabloid revelations about his private life.
“He was a fantastic player and captain with me, but I won’t comment on the decisions of the England manager or the owner of Chelsea.
“I am not the England manager, even if I could’ve been, and I am not the owner of Chelsea, which I never could’ve been.
“Yes, I could have been England manager,” he reiterated. “I was very honoured when I was asked and on the one hand I wanted to do it, on the other I didn’t, as I love training every day. So I said no.
“Then England did well to get the manager they have now.”
As if to prove his point and reject questions over rumours Bordeaux Coach Laurent Blanc will take over at Inter next season, Mourinho kissed the club badge.
“My jacket does not have the Scudetto shield on it, but it has a more important one – the Inter symbol.
“In fact, seeing as I’ve never done it before, I shall kiss it now.”
