Del Piero grows closer to NY move Tuesday 20 April, 2010

Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero looks ever closer to moving to the New York Red Bulls at the end of May, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The pink paper understands that Del Piero's sponsors Adidas are pushing the deal because they also have an arrangement with the Red Bulls.
The prospect of Del Piero playing in New York where there is a sizeable Italian community is apparently a tempting marketing opportunity.
And as such the 35-year-old would apparently earn significantly more than Juventus are willing to pay him.
The Red Bulls have just opened a brand new 25,000-seater stadium on the outskirts of New Jersey.
They have also been linked with a move for Barcelona striker Thierry Henry.

There are reports that Juventus are lining up Gianluca Vialli as President in a sensational reshuffle in Turin.
The Bianconeri's owners have grown increasingly tired of Jean-Claude Blanc who has disappointed since taking over from Giovanni Cobolli Gigli late last year.
Blanc was heavily criticised for the way he dealt with Ciro Ferrara and came under fire again earlier this month when he was holidaying in France while Juventus lost 3-0 to Udinese.
Juventus' patron John Elkann would like to see wholesale change at every level and hopes to convince Vialli to take the most important position at the club.
The Bianconceri reportedly contacted Vialli in the spring to inquire whether he would be interested in taking over from Ferrara.
He was flattered by the offer but politely turned the club down, convincing them further to bring their former striker back in some capacity.
Vialli enjoys the favour of the Agnelli family who would like him as Juventus' President and Italy boss Marcello Lippi as a technical director.
The Bianconeri are also considering the appointment of Amedeo Carboni as director of sport as he worked closely with Rafa Benitez at Valencia.
Benitez is Juventus' No 1 choice to replace Alberto Zaccheroni at the end of the season.
