WAYNE ROONEY and Nemanja Vidic are in line to face Tottenham on Sunday.
Vidic sat out the 1-0 FA Cup win over Liverpool after picking up a knock in training.
Rooney was left out after aggravating the ankle injury he sustained at West Brom on New Year's Day.
But both could return, boosting Old Trafford boss Alex Ferguson's options for the clash.
However, he may have to wait on the return of keeper Edwin van der Sar.
The Dutch ace has been suffering with a virus and has missed the last three games.
Ferguson said: "We thought Wayne would make the Liverpool game, but he came in to the training ground on Saturday and he felt it again.
"We decided there was no point risking him. Vidic got a knock in training but should be all right for Sunday.
"Edwin may be out for another week or so."
Tomasz Kuszczak has stepped in to replace Van der Sar, while Anders Lindegaard made the bench against Liverpool.
Fergie is also pleased with the latest displays by young defenders Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling.
Evans was outstanding against Liverpool, while Smalling shone in last Tuesday's league victory over Stoke.
The manager is encouraged to have two able deputies for Rio Ferdinand and Vidic.
He added: "Jonny was excellent against Liverpool. He tired a little before the end, that's why we brought Chris on.
"But it's been a great week in the sense that Chris played against Stoke and I was able to play Jonny on Sunday.
"They both need games and these two boys are excellent players."
