According to KOPSOURCE.COM , Clint Dempsey will fly out to hold talks with Brendan Rodgers this week after the America told Fulham that he wants to talk to Liverpool.

Despite a lack of Champions League football, the lure of playing for a club like Liverpool is one that the 29-year-old would find hard to ignore; especially given that he is entering the twilight of his career. And with only a year left on his contract, Liverpool could sign the player for as little as £5m.

However, it is believed that any bid may have to be put on hold until the futures of Andy Carroll and Charlie Adam are resolved. Arsenal are also said to be interested in the midfielder, although Liverpool remain firm favourites.

#LFC will allow Andy Carroll to return to Newcastle if they make a £20 million offer for the out-of-favour forward, according to The Times.
