DHL tour squad confirmed
A squad of youth and experience will fly to South Africa for the start of the Reds' DHL pre-season tour on Monday morning.
The 22-man squad will leave Manchester airport destined for Durban where United kick-off their tour, before further stops in Cape Town and the Chinese city of Shanghai. Experienced players in the shape of Rio Ferdinand - who will captain the side on the trip, Michael Carrick and Paul Scholes are all in the travelling squad alongside a host of youngsters including Davide Petrucci, Jesse Lingard and Ryan Tunnicliffe. Reds' attacker Bebe is also included after returning to Old Trafford from a loan spell with Turkish outfit Besiktas last season.
Sir Alex's men will take on AmaZulu FC in Durban on Wednesday night, before a friendly with Ajax Cape Town on Saturday. The Reds' final stop on the first part of their pre-season tour - the second will include visits to Norway, Sweden and Germany next month - will be in Shanghai to face Shanghai Shenhua on Wednesday week.
