ENGLAND MANAGER CALLS UPON YOUTHFUL SQUAD FOR TRIP TO SWITZERLAND
England Manager Roy Hodgson has named his squad for next week's match against Italy in Berne and has selected a young group of players to travel to Switzerland.
There are first-time Senior call-ups for Tottenham Hotspur pair Steven Caulker and Jake Livermore and Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand, whilst Manchester United's Michael Carrick receives his first call-up since 2010 and he is joined by Old Trafford team-mate Tom Cleverley.
Aside from that, Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy will have another opportunity to impress after an unfortunate injury ruled him out of the summer's European Championship Finals and Birmingham City's Jack Butland will be hoping to pick up his first Senior cap after impressing for Team GB during the Olympics.
The squad will meet up on Sunday evening and travel to Switzerland on Tuesday ahead of the match at the Stade de Suisse on Wednesday evening.
