Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their hopes to sign Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with German giants Borussia Dortmund launching a £25million bid for the Amenian.

A perennial name in amongst the gossip columns with moves to Liverpool pending, Eljero Elia is a Dutch winger who has been playing most recently in the German Bundesliga. He played 24 times for Werder Breman last term without scoring a goal.
While he moved to Bremen for £5 million last summer, there is no indication of the price Liverpool might be willing to pay for the 26-year-old, who has a long-term contract with his club.
