Landmine explosion kills scores of jihadists in Syria’s Hama
At least 11 jihadi fighters have been killed, 9 others severely injured as a landmine exploded in their vehicle in the town of Murak, located nearly 30 km to the north of Hama.
According to local sources, 20 militants from Jund al-Aqsa Salafi group – all of them are descendants of Jabal –al-Zawiya – were being transported in a bus when a landmine previously planted by the Syrian Army went off.
The sources said that government troops have set up dozens of landmines and IEDs before being driven out of the town in November 2015.

Fighting for ISIS’s largest stronghold in Aleppo intensifies, mounting casualties on both sides
After a month and a half of fighting for the city of Manbij that lies on the Euphrates’ western bank, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have finally been able to take the fighting close to the city’s downtown area.
Seizing most of the city’s western neighborhoods and approximately 85% of the Hazawni southwestern neighborhood, the SDF is currently engaged in brutal urban fighting attempting to capture the bakery and the National Hospital.
All those advances are coming at an extremely high cost for the predominantly Kurdish, US-backed rebel group. Just moments ago, Amaq published news of the destruction of a YPG vehicle and the death of all those who man it.

Syrian Army reinforcements arrive in Deir Ezzor: photos
A significant number of reinforcements from the Al-Hasakah Governorate arrived in the nearby desert province of Deir Ezzor on Wednesday to participate in the Syrian Arab Army’s latest offensive against the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).
The reinforcements did not arrive alone; instead, they were joined by the prominent field commander, Major General Issam Zahreddine of the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard.
A military source in the Deir Ezzor Governorate told Al-Masdar News on Wednesday night that General Zahreddine played a pivotal role during the mobilization of the reserve forces in the Al-Hasakah Governorate.
These Syrian Army reinforcements arrived shortly after General Mohammad Khaddour was replaced as the commander of the east Syria front.

Jihadist rebels launch surprise offensive in northeast Latakia
The jihadist rebels of the Turkmen Islamic Party and Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) launched a surprise offensive in the northeastern countryside of the Latakia Governorate tonight, targeting the strategic hills that surround the mountaintop village of Kabbani.
A military source in northern Latakia told Al-Masdar News tonight that the jihadist rebels have already recaptured the Zuwayqat Hills at the southern outskirts of Kabbani, putting them in position to build a large buffer-zone around the aforementioned village.
Following the loss of the Zuwayqat Hills, the Russian Air Force emerged in the northeastern countryside of Latakia, striking several jihadist sites near the Turkish border-crossing.
The Russian Air Force is attempting to forestall the Islamist advance in northeastern Latakia, while the Syrian Armed Forces regroup and prepare a counter-attack to retake some of the hilltops that were lost tonight.
Kabbani is strategically located at the eastern hills of the Kurdish Mountains (Jabal Al-Akrad); it is considered the gateway to the Jisr Al-Shughour District, which is firmly under the control of Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest).

National Defence Forces fend off Islamist attack at the Golan Heights
Around noon Wednesday, the National Defence Forces (NDF) reported coming under fire at the Quneitra governorate, a Syrian region bordering Israel.
Sporadic and rather rare clashes were observed near Al-Samadaniyah Asharqiyah as militants of Jabhat al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham and various Free Syrian Army (FSA) factions began mobilizing on the town’s outskirts.

Rebels flee Aleppo front lines, steal weapons and supplies
Liwaa Al Hurriya Al-Islamiye (Liwaa Islamic Freedom), one of the factions under the Free Syrian Army umbrella, issued a statement condemning a group of militants numbering 15 for abandoning their positions in Mallah, Rashideen, and Research Center and stealing weapons, equipment, and supplies that are valued at $75,000.
The FSA made a few conditions in its “bayan.” The group was given 24 hours to return the weapons and supplies they stole. If they were to miss the 24 hour deadline, the group will be subjected to a shariah court for fleeing the front lines and stealing weapons and equipment. The FSA requested that none of its allies were to accept this group into their ranks.
The rebel Islamist group declared that they’ll abandon funding of shariah schools in Jisr Al-Shughour and will stop mending highways amongst many civil activities due to shortage of funds resulting from theft. and that this statement was to be shared on all rebel media sources and to all factions.

7)Breakthrough in Aleppo as the Syrian Army captures Khalidiyeh district
In a major development, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) was able to impose full control over the Khalidiyeh neighbourhood and most of the Al-Layramoun Industrial Area this evening after fierce urban clashes with Islamist insurgents defending the districts.
A military source in the area confirmed to Al-Masdar News that elements of the SAA’s 4th Division and the Republican Guards had cleared the final rebel-held buildings in Khalidiyeh while simultaneously taking control of Layramoun’s gas factory, market, and glass factory.
This represents the largest single advance inside Aleppo for years; the city has been locked down in a military stalemate since 2014.
Nevertheless, Islamist rebels are still held up at Layramoun’s bus station while the SAA has fire control over the Layramoun roundabout, a site just 50 meters from the nearest government positions in the area.
Effectively, government troops at Layramoun are now just 2500 meters from linking up with the SAA’s Tiger Forces in northern Aleppo.
