1) In Video: Massive reinforcements pour into Darayya as big battle looms
A colossal military convoy was seen, today morning, passing the Damascus highway to the rebel-held town of Darayya as the Syrian Army prepares for a wide-scale offensive against the southwestern suburbs. A footage was filmed by local activists showing tens of army camouflaged vehicles, manned and equipped with medium-caliber machine guns and short-range rockets making their way to battleground Darayya. Clashes between government troops and local insurgents have renewed recently after months of the shaky Russia-US brokered ceasefire has been implemented. The reasons behind such clashes are still unknown.

2) Syrian Army foils jihadist assault on northern Daraa
On Thursday morning, Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) launched a powerful assault in the northern countryside of the Dara’a Governorate, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions at Kafr Nisaj and Tal Qareen. However, despite the intensity of their attack, the jihadists were unable to penetrate the Syrian Arab Army’s defenses; this would result in a large number of casualties for Jabhat Al-Nusra and their affiliates, including the Nusra field commander “‘Umar Abu Bakr.” According to a military source at the 5th Armored Division Headquarters in Izra’a, the Syrian Armed Forces foiled every attack that was conducted by the jihadist rebels, including the powerful assault on Tal Qareen.

3) Syrian Army, Hezbollah seize important East Ghouta town – Map update
The extremist rebels in the East Ghouta region of rural Damascus are having a rough start to the day; especially, after losing the strategic town of Deir Al-‘Assafir to the Syrian Arab Army’s 102nd Brigade of the Republican Guard and Hezbollah. Further adding to the rebel plight in the East Ghouta, the Syrian Republican Guard and Hezbollah imposed full control over the important town of Zibdeen after overrunning Faylaq Al-Rahman’s defenses on Thursday.

4) ISIS seizes 5 villages along the Turkish border: Al-Amaq
The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) reportedly captured 5 villages from the extremist rebels in northern Aleppo after launching a counter-offensive this morning. According to ISIS’ media wing, Al-‘Amaq, the terrorist group captured the villages of Yahmoul, Sheikh Rih, Jariz, Fayruziyah, and Al-Bal near the Turkish border-crossing. ISIS and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have been involved in a tug-of-war battle that is still ongoing in the northern Aleppo countryside, despite both sides losing a large number of combatants.

5)Syrian Army, Hezbollah capture strategic town in rural Damsacus
The Syrian Arab Army’s 102nd Brigade of the Republican Guard – backed by Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF), and Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) – reportedly captured the strategic town of Deir Al-‘Assafir this morning after overwhelming the remaining Faylaq Al-Rahman fighters in the area. According to a military source, the extremist rebels of Faylaq Al-Rahman and Jaysh Al-Fustat withdrew from Deir Al-‘Assafir before they were completely encircled by the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah.

6) Syrian Army, Russian Marines attack the Al-Sha’ar Gas Fields
The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces – backed by the Desert Hawks Brigade, Russian Marines, Liwaa Abu Fadl Al-‘Abbas (Iraqi paramilitary), and National Defense Forces (NDF) – have begun their assault on the Al-Sha’ar Gas Fields this morning after a brief four hour break from battle. The Desert Hawks and Russian Marines are currently leading the assault, striking the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) positions at the western outskirts of the Al-Sha’ar Gas Fields.

Field Report: SAA tightens grip on Eastern Ghouta. Map Update
The Syrian Armed Forces and its allies made today a substantial progress in two key bastions in Eastern Ghouta region that have been under the control Islamist fighters for years. The two towns, Deir al-Asafir and Zabdin, have for long served as an invincible fortresses for both the Saudi-backed Jaish al-Islam and the al-Qaeda offshoot in Syria, Jabhet al-Nusra. Other minor groups, like Falyaq al-Rahman and Jaish al-Fustat have also found a safe haven in the area. Today’s advances come as the infighting between the two major groups, Jaish al-Islam and Jabhet al-Nusra, has dramatically escalated in the recent weeks, killing hundreds of militants from both sides.
