Terror Alert: ISIS testing chemical weapons on prisoners
The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is reportedly testing homegrown chemicals like chloride and mustard gas on prisoners they hold in a secret jail in the Nineveh governorate, northern Iraq. The claim was made by residents residing near the alleged prison in Al-Andalus district, who reported of their children suffering severe rashes, in addition to breathing difficulties. The terror group has also relocated its chemical weapons laboratories to heavily-populated neighborhoods inside its stronghold of Mosul, in order to avoid being targeted by coalition airstrikes. Locals said that ISIS fighters have recently been using houses in the al-Mohandeseen neighborhood – once a wealthy Christian quarter now taken over by ISIS – to carry out chemical experiments. Dozens of dead rabbits and dogs were spotted in the nearby rubbish containers. The ISIS organization has seized chemical stockpiles from both Syria and Iraq and is now thought to be developing its own chemical weapons to attack its enemies. It is also widely believed that it is making use from the expertise of a considerable number of scientists who used to work for the Iraqi government under the reign of Saddam Hussein.

ISIS attempts to advance at the Panorama Checkpoint in Deir Ezzor
The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) launched a new assault at the Panorama Checkpoint inside the Deir Ezzor Governorate on Sunday after being repelled by the Syrian Arab Army’s 137th Artillery Brigade of the 17th Reserve Division the night before. ISIS began the assault by storming several sites that surround the Panorama Checkpoint; however, they were not able to seize anything, despite the intensity of their assault against the government forces. Clashes are still ongoing between the Syrian Armed Forces and ISIS, as the latter continues to press towards the Panorama Checkpoint.

Aid convoys enter besieged towns in Syria
Humanitarian aid convoys entered today morning two rebel-held towns in western Damascus for the first time in a year. The initiative was brokered by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the Syrian Red Crescent, in coordination with the Syrian government. Local activists said that 57 vehicles carrying food, medicine and essentials have made it into the two towns which host nearly 40,000 people. Syrian Army liberates Jabal Mazar in northern Palmyra
The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) – imposed full control over the last two points at the Mazar Mountains in northern Palmyra (Tadmur) on Sunday. A source at the T-4 Military Airport reported that the Tiger Forces and NDF liberated points Qal’at Al-Hari, Point 619, and Point 711 in Jabal Mazar after a violent battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) terrorists in northern Palmyra.

Syrian Army, Russian Marines launch attack to liberate Jabal Al-Sha’ar
The Desert Hawks Brigade – backed by the Russian Marines, Liwaa Abu Fadl Al-‘Abbas, 68th Brigade of the 18th Tank Division, and Liwaa Imam Al-‘Ali – have begun their long awaited assault at the Al-Sha’ar Gas Fields that are currently under the control of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS). The Syrian Armed Forces and their allies began the assault after the Russian and Syrian air forces concluded their airstrikes over the Al-Sha’ar Mountains (Jabal Al-Sha’ar) this morning. These airstrikes proved incredibly effective, as the Islamic State units were forced to withdraw east towards the destroyed gas wells of Jabal Al-Sha’ar. With ISIS’ back against the wall, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies took the opportunity to launch a powerful ground assault in order to advance their positions.

Fierce clashes erupt in Hama, Idlib as the Syrian Army targets jihadist groups
Earlier today, the Syrian Arab Army’s 47th Brigade of 11th Tank Division carried out a military operation that targeted the jihadist rebels of Jund Al-Aqsa (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and Ajnad Al-Sham at the Idlib Governorate villages of Sukeek and ‘Atshan. The Syrian Arab Army’s military operation resulted in the death 8 jihadists between the villages of ‘Atshan and Sukeek; this attack was followed up with a series of airstrikes by the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF). Meanwhile, in the east Hama countryside, the Syrian Arab Army’s 66th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division launched an attack against the Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) fighters inside the village of Al-Sutahayan in western Salamiyah. The battle at Sutahayan is still ongoing; however, no gains have been reported from this village.

Hezbollah, Syrian Army about to seize southern part of the East Ghouta
The extremist rebels of Faylaq Al-Rahman and Jaysh Al-Fustat are about to suffer a devastating defeat in the East Ghouta after ruling this region of rural Damascus for 4 years. On Saturday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s Republican Guard units – backed by Hezbollah and the 42nd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division – entered the last extremist controlled village in the southern part of the East Ghouta after a violent battle with Faylaq Al-Sham and Jaysh Al-Fustat. Despite seizing half of Harasta Al-Quntara, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah were forced to withdraw to the southern part of the village after the extremist rebels repelled their main assault on Monday.

Breaking: Syrian Army liberates Armenian Cemetery in Deir Ezzor
The Syrian Arab Army’s 137th Artillery Brigade of the Republican Guard – backed by the 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard – imposed full control over the Armenian Cemetery of Deir Ezzor after a violent battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) on Sunday. The Syrian Armed Forces were able to liberate this strategic site in western Deir Ezzor after repelling the Islamic State’s offensive at the Panorama Checkpoint earlier today. As a result of ISIS’ failed offensive at the Panorama Checkpoint, the Syrian Armed Forces took the opportunity to strike back against the terrorist group and recapture the Armenian Cemetery. According to Yarob Zahreddine of the 104th Airborne Brigade, the Syrian Armed Forces killed several ISIS terrorists during the battle for the Armenian Cemetery, including several foreign terrorists from North Africa.

ISIS recaptures all villages lost to rebels in northern Aleppo
Over the past 72 hours, fighters loyal to the Islamic State have recaptured the villages of Jariz, Yahmoul, Al-Faydiyah, Shaikh Rih and Tall al-Hisn from rebels in northern Aleppo. Meanwhile, several Free Syrian Army (FSA) groups in the region have pledged their allegiance to Jaish al-Mujahedeen in attempt to unify rebel groups against ISIS. For the past two months, northern Aleppo has seen remarkably many offensives and retreats on both sides with the frontline waving back in forth. Nevertheless, just one village now splits ISIS forces from reaching the Azaz border city – arguably the most important stronghold for Islamist rebels along the Turkish border. Although Syrian rebels are supported by coalition airstrikes and Turkish artillery units, their forces seem unable to gain the upper hand on the Islamic State.

Hezbollah promises to increase military strength in Syria
In a speech yesterday, the leader of Hezbollah vowed to strengthen the Lebanese paramilitary group’s presence in war-torn Syria. This comes one week after Mustafa Badreddine – a prominent Hezbollah commander – was killed in Damascus. Although some reports suggest him to have been killed in an Israeli airstrike, the official Hezbollah version says the commander was killed by “Takfiri terrorist” artillery shells. In a speech broadcasted on live television, Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said: “This precious (loss of) blood will push us to a larger, stronger and more sophisticated presence”. Since the battle of al-Qusayr (Homs) in 2013, Hezbollah has provided military support for the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in its efforts to suppress the country’s insurgency. Hezbollah is estimated to have lost around 1,200 fighters in Syria’s five-year-old conflict. “We are staying in Syria. More leaders will go to Syria than the number that were there before. We will be present in different forms as well,” he said without elaborating.

Syrian al-Qaeda group attacks Syrian Army stronghold in northern Hama
Yesterday evening, the al-Qaeda affiliate ‘Jund al-Aqsa’ renewed its offensive to capture Ma’an, an Alawite town and government stronghold in the largely Sunni Hama governorate. Although clashes continued throughout this morning and afternoon, government sources said they had not lost any ground during the attack and had inflicted many casualties upon the hostile al-Qaeda fighters. In total, some 25 Islamist fighters were killed while another 17 were injured. Furthermore, five Jund al-Aqsa vehicles were destroyed during the jihadist pursuit to capture Ma’an. The offensive was foiled by entrenched soldiers of the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) 47th Brigade of the 11th Division, assisted by the National Defence Forces (NDF) of Hama. Notably, airstrikes played a key role in restricting Jund al-Aqsa maneuverability across the fields between Morek and Ma’an.

Egyptian ISIS leader killed by the Syrian Army inEarlier today, the Syrian Arab Army’s 137th Brigade of the 17th Reserve Division foiled another Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) offensive at the Thardeh Mountains in western Deir Ezzor. While repelling this terrorist offensive, the Syrian Army’s 137th Brigade killed ISIS’ top field commander that was leading this charge at the Thardeh Mountains. According to a military source at the Deir Ezzor Airport, the Syrian Armed Forces killed the prominent ISIS field commander of Egypt descent, “Abu Khadija Al-Masri.”
