2) ISIS captures Tal Sawanah in east Homs
Earlier today, the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) reportedly captured Tal Sawanah in east Homs after a violent battle with the Syrian Arab Army’s 68th Brigade of the 18th Tank Division. The capture of Tal Sawanah from the government forces now puts the Islamic State units within 8 km of the strategic T-4 Military Airport; this base is located along the Palmyra-Homs Highway in the Syrian Desert. ISIS launched a new offensive in the east Homs countryside today after being on the defensive for nearly 6 days.

3) Syrian Army kills 25+ jihadists at the Zarah Thermal Station
The Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” – backed by Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham – launched a new assault in the southern Hama countryside on Tuesday, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions at the Zarah Thermal Station. Jabhat Al-Nusra and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham would attempt to break-through the Syrian Arab Army’s defenses at the southeastern perimeter of the Zarah Thermal Station, but would eventually be repelled after nearly four hours of non-stop combat. As a result of this failed infiltration attempt, the jihadist rebels suffered over 25 casualties at the Zarah Thermal Station, most of which occurred during the first two hours of the battle.

6)Jihadists attack strategic village in northern Latakia
The jihadist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), Jaysh Al-Turkmen, and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) launched a new attack at the strategic town of Saraf in northern Latakia after attempting to advance the night before at the nearby village of ‘Ayn ‘Issa. Led by Jabhat Al-Nusra, the jihadist rebels are storming the northern perimeter of Saraf, which is heavily fortified by the Syrian Arab Army’s 48th Special Forces Brigade and National Defense Forces (NDF). Currently, there have been no reported advances made by the jihadist rebel forces; however, they have also just started their assault. If Jabhat Al-Nusra and their allies are able to recapture Saraf; it would pave the way for a large-scale counter-offensive along the Turkmen Mountains.
