The lawsuits were consolidated into a multidistrict litigation (MDL) in the U.S. District Court in Illinois.
The he first of those trials was supposed to start in January 2012, but the judge instead ordered mediation. A number of cases have also been consolidated in a Pennsylvania state court. The judge in these cases also ordered mediation.
In March 2012, Bayer agreed to settle 70 of the lawsuits for an undisclosed amount. Bellwether trials, which are used to determine future trends in specific litigation, are scheduled for June 2012 if more settlement agreements can’t be met.
I would say by my 3rd month of taking YAZ I started to get pains in both my legs but I didn't relate it to the pills because I never had problems with birth control before. The leg pains came back but did not disapper early June, then I started to be short of breath when walking, thinking it was allergies. I made a docters appointment because of my leg pain and the same day they orderd a ultasound of my legs and found the blood clot. Being admitted to the hospital that day and being questioned about my breathing they ordered a PTI scan and found a clot in each of my lungs. I had developed a pulmonary embolism. They tell me blood thinners for life because clots tend to come back.
The only medications I was taking was YAZ.
