Top Supercars of 2005

With another year nearly done, we look back at the most supercarish supercars released in 2005. In this top 10 are similar power-to-weight killers, hopped up on turbos and superchargers for top speed honors.


1. Bugatti 16/4 Veyron
Developed for 5 million each and selling for 4 million less, the Veyron is unlikely to be tried again.

2. Pagani Zonda C12 F
Each year the Pagani gets better and this one dedicated to Fangio tops Top Gear's track test.

3. Saleen S7 Twin Turbo
Released at Detroit a year ago, we figure this supercar gets street cred thanks to its S7R cousin.

4. Hennessey Venom 1000
Winner of Road & Track's standing mile contest.

5. Gumpert Apollo
A reincarnated kit car with all the right elements.

6. Ascari A10
Just announced, the A10 is sure to be Great Britain's fastest supercar.

7. SSC Ultimate Aero
The Ultimate Aero topped Forbes' shabby list of fastest American cars

8. Leblanc Mirabeau
Here is a LeMans LMP racecar that is also capable of driving on the road!

9. Brabus SLR McLaren
Brabus is the the only, and probably the best, tuning company to modify the SLR.

10. Ruf RT 12
A 911 that consistently sees 200mph on the Autobahn next to the Ruf facilities.
