PM Lado Gurgenidze Resigns?
Prime Minister Lado Gurgenidze has tendered his resignation and left Georgia, a trustworthy source has told GT.
President Saakashvili has reportedly accepted the resignation.
Vano Noniashvili from President’s press service did not deny or confirm the reports. He declined to comment saying he is out of Tbilisi and thus is not adequately informed.
Lado Gurgenidze himself told GT the reports are not true and he is not going to resign.
Gurgenidze was signed in the office on November 16, 2007 and succeeded Zurab Noghaideli on this post.
Prior to joining Saakashvili’s team Gurgenidze served as the Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Georgia since October 2004.
Bank of Georgia was the first Georgian Bank to list in London Stock Exchange last year.
