Zamparini: Mchedlidze Will Be A 'Major Player'
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has heaped praise upon Levan Mchedlidze, declaring that the young striker "will become one of the strongest centre-forwards in Europe"...
Mchedlidze moved to Palermo during the summer on a season-long from Empoli, who were relegated to Serie B at the end of last term.
The Georgian teenager brought quite a reputation with him to Sicily, having caught the eye of many a scout with his exploits at youth level for both club and country.
The 18-year-old justified the attention when he scored the winner after coming on as a substitute against Juventus at the weekend.
It was only Mchedlidze's second appearance for the Rosanero, but Zamparini has seen enough already to be certain of his immense potential.
"I am increasingly convinced that he will become one of the strongest centre-forwards in Europe," the Palermo president told the press.
"He's already strong, even if he is only 19 years old [sic], but he will become a major player."
