Blackwake: Dead Marque is a multiplayer fps naval game set during the age of sail. The game focuses largely on team based tactics while also featuring a fast paced environment filled with destruction, combat, and strategy. Organizing a broadside, assisting your captain in navigating through various weather conditions, or just being part of the gun crew - there are many roles to be filled in this shooter.
Team orientated sailing
Blackwake is a game with heavy focus on team cooperation and tactics. This includes gun control, navigation, and combat strategy.
Intense melee and weapon combat
The game will feature an assortment of 18th century firearms, each with their own strengths and flaws of the era. You can expect boarding to be a fun filled chaotic experience.
Goal of Land/Sea simultaneous battles
We're eager to add more to the game but we don't want to get ahead of ourselves. We're excited to try new things in the future to expand gameplay in a few areas.
Goal of up to 300 Players per match
So far our testing has shown ~120 to be totally possible, the bandwidth usage predicts that 300 will also be possible. Maybe next time we won't run out of participants!
Objective based game modes
This is where we hope to shine. We hope to not only provide a spiced up traditional team-deathmatch, but also have more scenarios to make you really feel like you're a part of something epic.
Examples of game modes include:
Cat and mouse
Bounty placed on a pirate vessel and you're in nearby waters? Go get 'em. Attempt to capture the vessel/kill the majority of the crew while taking as few casualties as possible.
Merchant interception
A large merchant vessel looking ripe for the taking was spotted nearby. Two small teams of pirates working together are attempting to capture it for a large payday.
Platform and release information:
The game will be available for both PC and Mac, and possibly Linux (once we have testers on this platform) in mid 2015.
