In the XXI century, the cutting edge technologies are available to everyone, and most of the people are attached to them. In this information flow, the essence of ancient human customs vanishes. Few of us, the representatives of the modern world, know this feeling when after a long day of work people gather around the fire to just relax, share a piece of themselves to share the joy and to tell the children a fairy tale. In the old days, such full moon and new moon meetings were accompanied by merry folk festivals and dances. Women were singing, the men were beating drums, and the wind was breathing emotions into the fire, which glowed brighter and higher. And all, young and old glorrified the dance till the morning. And there comes the new day!
And where are those wonderful places where such traditions are not forgotten? We will tell you!
There, behind the Greater Caucasus Mountains there is one more ridge - Trialeti. And behind it lies a the Lower Kartli region - famous for its ancient settlements of the Stone Age (Dmanisi settlements and Trialeti burial mounds).
Here the Georgian civilization was born.
The central area of the Lower Kartli is Tetritskaro (the white key). Mountainous, pitted with deep canyons, entirely green, with the richest lands. From the rocky massif, on top of which stands the fortress Kerogly, the powerful stream flows passing through Asureti - the place interesting for many reasons. It is said that once here lived Assyrians (Aissors, Suriani, Syrians), hence the name. At the beginning of the XIX century especially religious Germans moved here, who believed that the Apocalypse will not affect the Caucasus. They rebuilt the village and re-named it Elizabettal. Later, the ancient name Asureti was returned to the settlement.
This year, the island Misterika begins its journey through the world like a Flying Island Laputa. The first point of our landing will take place on 18 - 24 July in Georgia Asureti. Where, with luck, we will host the ancient Assyrian god Ashur. Most likely, he will be peaceful and will greet the guests.
Georgians are friendly and hospitable people, able to appreciate the joy of life and enjoyment "of clean water," which is in excess here. Dinner here can last few hours: here eating in a hurry is not welcome, intimate conversations are long here too. Especially if accompanied with famous local wine. It is also clear that the work can wait, if a Georgian is talking to a friend.
They will do anything for a friend here!
Finding new friends among the travelers and visitors is a separate tradition. It is a leisuraly ritual. To have a guest in the house, show and tell what is how. At the same time in the yard, where the meat is fried, they lay the table, at which time flies with toasts, conversations and choral chants. And that, Georgians are able to do friendly and musically - so that the soul gets warmth and face gets smile. They will put their guests to sleep, feed them heavily in the morning, they will ask about plans, give advice and invite them back.
It is hard to believe, but even if you do not have one friend in Georgia, leaving from here, you'll have hundreds of friends. After all, the greatest happiness for the Georgians is when they have lot of friends.
And the best way to see it is to come to visit the hospitable people of Georgia.
